Located in Bratislava, Slovakia, Green Square is a space under a bridge that functions as a bus terminal. Originally the physical conditions of the site provoked a negative environment; fortunately this place was transformed into a vibrant pleasant space by Urban Interventions – an initiative created by Vallo Sadovsky Architects- in collaboration with the local community. The implementation helped not only to accomplish some of the goals from this design firm – call for action in different projects while utilizing design as a tool for active participation and involvement from citizens during the development of their projects- but also to raise new conversations and approaches in order to deal with problematic spaces such this.
