The University of Antwerp develops, unlocks and disseminates scientific knowledge through research, education and services in a spirit of academic freedom and responsibility.
Its Research Group for Urban Development has the mission to contribute to knowledge about urban development, aimed at a sustainable transformation of the city. That knowledge includes both the concrete spatial design, as well as process aspects of urban development. Equal attention is given to the design of innovative solutions, as to the strategic implementation of projects.
The integration of infrastructure projects in their physical surroundings, as well in the real policy context is one of the key issues of the Research group.
