The Greater Toronto and Hamilton region is undertaking the largest public investment in transit infrastructure of the last 30 years. The objective is to expand the transportation network over the next seven years and work is underway to secure revenue for another ten-fifteen years. Metrolinx, the regional transportation authority, is responsible for the planning, construction and delivery of the expanded system, working with local municipalities and the private sector.
